Commentary by Evans Liberal Politics owner Paul Evans: HEY, the good guys are falling like flies, have you noticed? We get Barack Obama coming into office as a true progressive force for everyman, and two short years later, we see him falling in line with the powers that be. I’m not saying he’s a sell out, just that, perhaps, he is doing what it is possible to do in the United States today. That means he HAS to work with the corporate/military industrial complex, and that he has to “make deals” with Republicans and in general run his Presidency as if he were a Blue Dog, himself. Or in other words, in order to get a few scraps for the people thrown to him, Obama had to sit up, bark, and roll over.

It’s going around. Alan Grayson is out in Florida. Dennis Kucinich may well lose his seat because of redistricting in Ohio, which is going to lose two House seats. The New World Order continues to tighten it’s control of the media, and the people’s wallets are lighter all the time. A climate of fear and despondency has gripped the mean streets of the nation, and Main Street is not too far behind. For the first time in history, we have a recovery only for the rich and the major corporations/banks, as ordinary people continue to suffer.

Oh, I guess it’s not all bad news, just 95 percent of what’s doing down at any given time. There are still a few bright items in any given day’s news, if you look for it. See Australia could try Palin for inciting violence, The Raw Story, January 21, 2011, by Stephen C. Webster. Now there’s a news item to Make Me Smile. No, Sarah, have you figured it out? Intelligent people do NOT like you.

But now? Now, yet another voice for progress and decency is gone. Keith Olbermann has left the building. And The Beat Goes On. Not to belittle the whole business. You see, few actually progressive candidates are actually ever going to get nominated to run for Congress. So nothing is going to change. The System has the American people in a hammerlock and folks, if you don’t get in line and work with the system, you’re going down. Personally I’d LOVE to get a chance to work with the system and have some kind of a life. Yes, I would gladly be un piceno de riceno’s (a little one of the rich ones). I’m TOTALLY ready to fall in line. But I guess a lot of us just aren’t that lucky.

…STILL, there must be a few rich and powerful dudes who read my stuff. Hey, Guys!!! Sign me up for the New World Order. ~ Paul Evans

UPDATE: By Way of Explanation: Did you get that the above was, in the mainstream of its message, sarcastic? While I really need a job, and do in fact consider that it would be nice to fit inside of the establishment, there ARE some compromises I will NOT make. I feel that Jesus has largely healed me of my former mental illness, but NEVER in my life would I have done, nor would I do evil to another person in order to get ahead. That being said, somebody please pass this on to a rich executive or White House staffer who needs a decent writer/editor/web designer, won’t you? I feel as though I could have said all this better.
