Evans Liberal Politics, by Paul Evans:

We have been collecting music to stream for you on Evans Liberal Politics since we started this site, really as an add on to my Evans Web Design website, back in November of 2008. There are 230 songs collected together on Paul’s Playlist of Rock and Pop Hits, which we have painstakingly gathered together for our viewers, in some cases paying as much as $30 or more each for the rights to stream a particular song on the playlist. Later we learned how to do this for free.

Recently we have been collecting music from the playlist which represent particular genres of music together in blog posts.

With this post we just about complete the process, for here we have gathered together our best hard rockin’, smokin,’ wailing classic rock tracks for you, together in one place. Check out some of our other genres of music using the menu at the top of the page. About the only thing left is to make a post of the pop sounds, which we hope to do shortly. Necessarily, the selection of rock tracks reflects my own liberal bias and what I like in rock music, and the fact that I now (somehow) am 53 years old. I’ve tried to limit this playlist to rock music by commercial artists we all know and love. These are the songs of my life, and these are also my very favorite classic rock tracks. I hope you enjoy my efforts.

Of Concern: Bill would let US government block ‘infringing’ websites worldwide 21 Sep 2010: US lawmakers have introduced legislation that would allow the federal government to quickly block websites anywhere in the world if they are dedicated to sharing copyrighted music or other protected content. The “Combating Online Infringement and Counterfeits Act.” would empower the US Department of Justice to shut down, or block access to, websites found to be “dedicated to infringing activities.” Sites that use domain names registered by a US-based company, or a top-level-domain administered by a US-based company, would find their internet addresses frozen.

I am not sure whether this would or will affect Evans Liberal Politics. The music here which is not purchase comes from YouTube videos, mostly of live recordings, many of which are not on CD or DVD. We changed the YouTube videos over into .mp3 audio. Still, I worry about things like this. ~ Evans Liberal Politics owner Paul Evans.
